The Ashuwillticook Trail is Heading North

A new $64,000 state grant will help map out the next 9.3 miles of the trail, which will eventually connect Adams to North Adams and Williamstown. The funding will support a transportation survey and community interviews to better understand how residents get around and what they need from the future trail. The project builds on a $17.3 million federal grant awarded in 2025 for planning and design. When complete, the extension will connect the existing trail through downtown North Adams and the MASS MoCA campus to the Williamstown Mohican Path, creating new opportunities for recreation, transportation, and economic development.
