ArtWeek Kicks Off This Weekend!

ArtWeek Berkshires kicks off this weekend, and North Adams is bursting with creative experiences with an extensive lineup of exhibitions, performances, workshops, and community gatherings celebrating creativity across the city. Highlights include the powerful Into Light Project at Hotel Downstreet, honoring Berkshire residents lost to addiction through portraiture and storytelling; Richard Haskins’ open studio at Heritage State Park; and live performances at Studio 9 at The Porches Inn featuring both the Gregg August Ensemble and 5 Pound Horse. Art lovers can explore exhibitions including Figurative Magic at Future Lab(s) Gallery, Material Transformations at Mixed Media Space, Automatic Drawings: Austin Osman Spare at Mastic, and the Full House reception at Eclipse Mill.
Additional events include collaborative storytelling workshops and artist discussions at Common Folk Artist Collective, Douglas Gilbert’s Nature Interrupted open studio at Lapin Contemporary, adult ballet classes at Creative Soul, local artist Isabel Twanmo’s opening at Steeple City Social, Brewsters’ community trinket swap at Brewsters, conversations and opening celebrations for Spatial Poems at MASS MoCA, and SO MUCH MORE.
