First Friday Welcomes Students!

Friday, September 5, 5–8pm

at the Hatchlings at the Eagle Street Parklet

Join us for a Student Community Welcome during First Friday on September 5! The event will bring students from Williams College and MCLA downtown for an afternoon and evening of food, music, and community connections to celebrate the start of the semester and highlight all that North Adams has to offer.

Students can enjoy a mixer with light refreshments, hear from a panel of community members about what goes on in North Adams and ways to get involved, and take part in a scavenger hunt bingo for prizes. The evening continues with student performances opening for local band Five Pound Horse, plus opportunities to explore downtown businesses and galleries and participate in other First Fridays programming.

Transportation to/from Williams College:

  • BRTA Bus: BRTA bus service departs from the top of Spring Street at 3:47, 4:47, and 5:47pm. Return service departs Main Street North Adams at 5:12 and 6:12pm.

  • 12-Passenger Van: Williams will arrange for a college driver to shuttle students over and back using a 12-passenger college van, complementing the BRTA service, beginning with a first run from Williamstown beginning at 6:15pm. Students will be dropped off near the same place that the BRTA bus stops and will begin a series of return runs from North Adams departing at 6:45, 7:45, 8:15, and 8:45pm.

  • Ride Share: Williams will set up a campus-wide ride share sheet inviting students, faculty, and staff to ask/offer rides over to the events.
